NURS 480W: Leadership

With completion of most the health science classes in the past fall semester, it was now imperative for us nursing students to grasps the understanding of the leadership side of nursing prior to graduating. In this course we learned what character skills a nurse must have and how to apply them in real life situations. With much emphasis on professionalism, we learned how to carry ourselves and direct others accordingly.

To Assignment

By taking class 480 , I have obtained many skill to prepare to work in teams in the healthcare field. While I have always done pretty well when it came to the anatomy and physiology side of nursing, I did struggle with the communication and interactions part. As a person who loves people but struggles with social anxiety, this was a hard thing for me to overcome but learning effective communication in detail has helped tremendously. In this class we took a few quizzes that gave us a situation having to do with leadership and it tested our ability to respond properly. Learning exactly what I should and should not say has taught me so much about communication and professionalism which I do plan on implementing in my new nursing career.
